13-year old Kierra Perkins began Kandles by Kierra at the age of 11 after creating a "kandle" for her dad on Father's Day.  She was featured on the Celebrate TN segment on News Channel 5. She has become the candle  vendor for a local store called Mama's Modern Touch.  She received the Who's Who in Nashville award by Dr. Bobby Jones on his television show, Bobby Jones Presents. She was awarded the Entrepreneur on the Rise award at a women’s conference in Greensboro, NC.  She was a guest on the Treva & Kevin Show.  She was a guest on the It's Stehen Time Show. She was awarded a $500 Gift Certificate from Genesis Diamond at the Women Who Rock Nashville event.  She was featured on the Today in Nashville Show on Channel 4. On top of her kandle business and her extracurricular activities at school, Kierra also has a Jr. Dragster race-car.
